Pema Gyamtsho is the house captain for his house. He is well liked by all the boys but the girls seem a little wary. Seems he has the roving eye (and occasionally, hand.) Not much of an athlete and not very studious. It is difficult to tell whether he is a dull student or if he is just lazy. He has that lost, dreamy look about him. There’s nothing poetic or philosophical about the look. It’s just a lost look, like a drug addict in a trance.
I have a feeling he will remain in the village on the farm. He doesn’t have that urban streak in him. He seems to doubt whether he deserves to be house captain in the first place. Very odd boy. Sometimes dynamic, sometimes dull. Sometimes upright, sometimes willing to cut corners and cheat. He has the potential I think. But its like a small gold chain at the bottom of a full septic tank. You know its there, but is it worth the toil? As a teacher it is my job to find that gold. I will try. Maybe I can make him a farmer who does well in life.
