Whither Minjur?

DPT kissing ass

Where shall Lyonpo Minjur go? What shall he do? Followed orders from his superiors and now finds himself carrying the penalties for their crime. Unfair? Angry? Yes but what can he do?

He dug this hole himself. As have all the DPT MPs. They have their noses up the PM’s bottom. They acted as if the party didn’t exist without Jigmi Thinley. They made it a one man show. Never in the last four and half years have even one MP or one minister stood up to Jigmi Thinley’s errors of judgment. He has made many mistakes but without any checks on him, the mistakes became the burden of his fellow MPs and bureaucrats aligned to him.

Minjur has no option but to look to Jigmi Thinlay to throw him some bones. To say what is right and oppose Jigmi Thinlay now would be wholly uncharacteristic. People would say the only time Minjur stood up to the Prime Minister was to save his own skin. It would not be convincing. So DPT ministers and MPs must live with the devil they created. Justly deserved. But for us common people, we beg the DPT to infuse democracy into the party so that we are represented by our 47 representatives in the assembly and 20 in the council, not ruled by one DPT president.

As for Minjur, he should at best look forward to some semi-governmental post after 2013. Some constitutional post or ambassadorship or special envoyship but his days are numbered. Minjur, a good man, forgot that the foundation for his career should be his assets and instead decided to build castles in the air by kissing ass. Next time try biting.

  1. Minjur Dorji very well knew what he was doing when he allotted a plot to his sister. He is definitely a corrupt man.
He is a wolf hiding in sheep’s skin.

  2. oh! all the ex-mongar Dzongdag’s are of same type merely looking to climb up the trees that cann’t be done even by monkeys. Fully ruiened but boosted by tashigang youngbas.

  3. Whatever the ex-ministers do is fine but no ambassadorship please. Sending retired Lyonpos and Dashos as Ambassadors just for Kidu is totally unwarranted. Ambassadorship cannot be a kidu post.

    Whither Minjur? Wither I suppose

  5. DPT has no accountability what so ever. It lost a constitutional case but what did it do. It blamed the opposition. It blamed the other people but itself. It threatened to resign en mass? but in the end not even a head rolled! All the MPs were stunned that they will lose their seat prematurely and were scared to the bone to speak out. What a democracy we have. It is unique indeed. Above all the legislative body is supposed to be an independent body to check and balance. What a nice nice govt. What a superb tactics. JYT is indeed a master politician. I love him but not democracy!

    • You are still blind, I think, OL took the nation for a ride and because of that we are suffering. By taking the RGOB to court, he was not fighting for the common man/aam admi, he was just helping his rich cronies. I concede that the RGOB lost the case, however, if OL really had the interests of the country at heart, he would have never taken the government to court.

And, please spare us the bull shit about loving JYT.

JYT will be the deciding factor to lose the election. Predictions are out… And with that DPT will be forgotten forever. JYT could have used the opportunity properly but then he started building up this notion that “He is THE ONLY one” attitude. Never the less MP also didn’t perform much in my village also.

JYT speaks about sustainable development but looking at the number of hydro-power project coming up.. i don’t think so.

    • Good luck with your predictions, if the DPT lose power, I will be the first one to congratulate the new party and wish them the best. Sadly, many people here only seem to want the DPT to fail. We will show you people how not to be petty, ie my MP also did not perform, which is a very sweeping statement and as history will bear me out 80 to 90 percent of elected representatives of the people are never able to fulfill their campaign promises, for a myriad of reasons.

Once in power, people will know how tough governing is, especially if we have people like Her Highness here who wants her MP to deliver on all his promises.

  8. dzongda says:
