Master Karma Rangdol

Karma Rangdol
When I first saw him in class I thought he was supposed to be in the high school nearby. He looked too old. Turns out he’s been around for sometime in the lower classes. All his colleagues have overtaken him and left for college. He just managed to reach lower secondary. And even here he is so neglected in spite of his age, so he has desperately been trying to become house captain to be noticed. I really wanted to make him captain because of his seniority but somehow that would risk the displeasure of the class and the school. He is not at all popular. The story is, he was found repeatedly in past years with money that belonged to the school. Actually it belonged to some poorer students whose parents had kept it with the school for safekeeping. His reputation has not recovered despite a decade in lower secondary.

I have never heard him take a stand on any topic in school. He is neither for or against the school picnic or the annual class project or the blood drive or anything. You can hear him talking but its just words – it doesn’t lead to a conclusion. He is vocal but has no personality. He moves in large groups but has no friends. Yet he is friendless but is not lonely. He is older than the other students but he is still an unknown entity. Difficult to read. He seems almost formless.

I cannot even guess what career he is suited for. All I can say is that if his rich uncle gives him enough land he might be less tempted to take other’s properties. This might help his reputation and future chances.

  1. It’s pity Bhutanomics is not just hard core PDP but also real Ngolops. Did u Guys know that this very website is being run by a Ngolops who was resettled in Europe. The article posted on June 10 is very disturbing trying to create disharmony in our peaceful country. Please don’t sell our country to Ngolops. You will only realise when things are too late.. The approach which this group is doing is very risky and pose an eminent threat to our country’s sovereignty.. I pray to Palden Drukpai Kasung to save Bhutan..
